Vision
The Vision Program
Since October 2007, over 1,200 patients have received eye exams donated by community optometrists and ophthalmologists, and over 1,000 have received corrective eyewear through Traverse Health Clinic’s vision program.
- Depending on eligibility, patients receive an annual or biennial comprehensive eye exam.
- Patients needing eyeglasses may choose from a limited frame collection. The only cost the patient will incur is a $10 co-pay for the glasses. (Contact lenses are not part of the program.) Traverse Health Clinic pays the remainder of the cost.
- Future eye exams and eye glasses are available as determined by the optometrist or the ophthalmologist.
- If a patient has a medical ophthalmologic problem, the patient will be referred to an ophthalmologist for follow up. Arrangements are handled by Traverse Health Clinic staff.
