For 35 years, Traverse Health Clinic has been silently and efficiently serving those uninsured in our community with health care needs. Unfortunately, the number and scope of these needs have been escalating at such a rate that we now need to talk about it. You can help us meet these challenges.
- Michigan has 1.2 million uninsured residents.
- Benzie, Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties have 11,000 uninsured, and climbing.
- Traverse Health Clinic is the only community service which offers comprehensive access to health care services for the uninsured and underserved in Northwest Lower Michigan.
- Traverse Health Clinic impacts 2,300 people every month.
- For every $1 spent to run CHAP, vision and dental programs, we receive $10 in donated services.
- For every $1 spent to run the Medication Access Program, we receive $15 of donated medications.
- Two thirds of Traverse Health Clinic patients are employed.
- Two thirds of Traverse Health Clinic patients are women.
